Slipway
The club operates a small slipway adjacent to our clubhouse. We have a variety of cradles to suit yachts, power boats and catamarans.
There is a weight limitation of 10 tonnes on our present facility but we are working with an engineer to be able to increase that by making some alterations to the mechanisms. The slip is operated by volunteers from the club and a booking is required by contacting us.
We can accommodate keelboats to about 50’ with a maximum draft slipped of 2.6m, and catamarans up to a maximum beam of about 7.6m. The overall weight limitation applies to all craft.
Marina
The club has a small marina with alongside berthing. Berths are behind a locked gate and equipped with power and water and courtesy lighting at intervals along the pontoons. The inner berths have some tidal limitations and are priced accordingly. At present we are oversubscribed for the outer berths.
We do offer two 40’ visitors berths (or one larger berth) alongside on the main pontoon in front of the clubhouse which must be booked in advance as they are also used by club members for maintenance and loading of their boats before trips. A daily charge dependent on LOA of the vessel applies.
The most northern pontoon has no security or amenities and is used when members are launching trailer boats. The outer side of the pontoon is 40’ and can accommodate visiting boats at no charge for a short time – mainly sheltering from adverse weather. It is provided on a temporary basis after contacting the club for availability.
Moorings
The club owns moorings in the river for visitors and members on a temporary and semi-permanent basis. Some are limited in draft due to silting in parts of the river. They are also weight limited and large heavy cruising yachts will exceed their capability. MAST do not operate any public moorings along the north coast of Tasmania, so the club moorings fill that role for suitable craft. A small fee is charged to cover maintenance of the equipment. Contact the club to request use and determine the suitability of your vessel for any available moorings.
